The Worst Albums of 2010

Let me start by saying this: I could have taken the easy way out. I could have claimed that My Chemical Bromance or 30 Seconds To Mars or the Bieb had the worst albums of the year.

But that’s a cop out.

Instead I’m rating the albums that I had the most faith in and left dissapointed. Albums from established artists whose earlier stuff clearly impressed me more. It doesn’t mean I hate these bands. After anticipating so much I listened to the albums, really listened to them and thought, ‘That’s it?‘.

So perhaps this article should be renamed to The Ten Biggest Dissapointments of 2010. But it’s not.

Thursday 18th March
A band we’d befriended in a local watering hole the night before was The Demon Beat from West Virginia. They reckon that they were just about the only band from West Virginia and had taken on a lengthy road trip to be with us. South by Southwest – Part 1

South by Southwest, or SXSW as it’s commonly known, is one of the largest festivals in the States and it encompasses all things music, film and interactive. This year the event went for 9 days and saw a few hundred performers. But really, if you want to know more just check out the website.

Nothing is more romantic then seeing a few hundred bands for your honeymoon. At least that’s my idea of a perfect honeymoon. And fortunately I’m not alone. A friend went to Austin to see what SXSW had to offer. Here’s what Herbie had to say about it… Continue reading »
